This work investigates the relationship/tension between life and decay through the lens of taxidermy-specifically, the phenomenon of a taxidermized tree branch. Though naturally destined to decompose, the organic material is artificially arrested and preserved. Utilizing this duality as a conceptual foundation, the piece explores a form that actively reaches outward for life, yet inevitably transitions into a bone-like structure.
